Context
The values read like everyone else’s: ambition, collaboration, accountability. Nobody identified with them because none of it said anything specific.
Internal communication competes with the work itself — anything that can’t be read in ten seconds doesn’t exist.
What was needed was something people could repeat in conversation, not just hang on a wall.

Decision
Rather than describing values, I named an attitude. One word people can apply to themselves and to each other, and a poster system that keeps it present in the office.
“A value nobody can repeat in conversation isn’t a value.”

Outcome
Values nobody could repeat in conversation became one word people actually use around the office — a harder test for an internal brand than any slide in a deck. The poster system keeps it present in the space, not filed away in an HR document.
The name entered the team’s everyday vocabulary as culture, not as a campaign — which was the real goal from the start.
